A lovely flower is no more

This Haiku is dedicated to a life, which withered away early in life.He was Masooka Shiki. At an early age  he was afflicted with  Tuberculosis. Even in his pain he wrote poems. He was only 32 when he succummbed to his illness. His poems did not reflect the pain which  was taking away his breath every moment. Hats off to his brave soul.
                 Here is the Haiku in his memory

                                                         A lovely flower
                                               blooming, singing, enjoying life
                                                        struck by storm.

]

                                                        Heart winning smile
                                                 brought joy on several  lips
                                                       in death he  smiles.

                                                       Mask on his face
                                               reflects not his deep agony
                                                        left life young.

                                                          He is gone
                                                 but lives,in his poems
                                                            full of life.

                                                         Oh great man
                                                fear not death, spread love
                                           charm, kindness goodness, generosity.

  11. What a wonderful tribute to Shiki Usha ... you have caught his life in a very nice series of haiku. Shiki was one of the greatest haiku-poets and he never complained being ill. He enjoyed life as we all should do.
